How do I make bad customer service public?

Amos asked:

I have had several bad customer service experiences with a local grocery store and no results from complaints to managers or corporate. How do I go about making it public so other consumers are aware of these issues? How do I go about contacting local media and get results?

What does excellent customer service consist of?

Sara T asked:

What characteristics would a store have that provides excellent customer service?

What are the salespeople like?

The cashiers?

Is there a clear presence of the manager on duty?

How much does good customer service influence your decision to return to a store?

How important is it in comparison with prices? Would you actually be willing to pay a more if it meant you were getting better customer service?

Give some examples of standard customer service behaviors that you would like to see changed.

Give some examples of stellar customer service you’ve received.

Thanks everyone for your input!
Already, some great suggestions– thank you everybody!!

FYI, if you didn’t figure it out already, I do work in retail, as a supervisor at a busy store.

I love my work and believe I provide great customer service, but I am always looking for ways to improve, and on ways to guide our employees. A big part of my job involves training, so I feel responsible for making sure all our staff are on the right page with this.

Thanks again for your input! :)

What does a customer service rep in the insurance industry do?

what’s up? asked:

I have quite a bit of customer service experience in my background – and I have just applied for a customer service position for an ins. co.
The ad said no experience was required, just a strong cust service background.
I am trying to prepare for a possible interview, and wondered if anyone could fill me in on what could be some of the resp. of the position.
Thanks!
